Teddy Bear Week
Day 5
Circle Time:
Small Or Large Teddy Bear?
First, you will need two medium sized boxes and then print out my large and small bear file onto colored card stock paper. You will need to print out several bears. Glue one of the small bears to the front of a small box and one of the large bears to the front of a larger box.
Next, have the children sit in a circle. Place all the bears into a cloth bag or pillow case. Have the children take turns pulling out a bear. After each child pulls out a bear, teacher will ask him/her if the bear is small or large. Help the children as needed. Then direct the child to drop the bear into the correct sized box. Repeat until each child has had a turn.
Art Time:
Two Teddy Bears
First, you will need to print out the small teddy bear file, you will need to print out two teddy bears per child onto heavy paper such as card stock paper.
Next, have the children color the teddy bearsand then the teacher will need to attach large craft sticks to the bears, by using heavy tape such as masking tape or duck tape. Then have the children recite the rhyme below with their teddy bears.

Teddy Bear Writing Page
First, you will need to print out the teddy bear writing page. Show the children the picture, ask them if they know what letter is on the picture. Tell the children that teddy bear starts with the letter T.
Next, have the children color the teddy bears and then trace the T’s for Teddy Bear at the bottom of the page.
Special Activity:
Two Little Teddy Bears
Adapted from two little black birds
Have the children act out the rhyme with their teddy bears.
Two little teddy bears sitting on a hill.
(Have the children show the teddy bears)
One named Jack and one named Jill.
(Hold one up high then hold the other one up high)
Run away Jack. Run away Jill.
(Hide one behind your back, and then hide the other one behind your back, so both are now hidden.)
Come back Jack. Come back Jill.
(Bring back one teddy bear, and then bring back the other teddy bear)
Repeat.
You may want to make a copy of the rhyme above and send home with the teddy bears.
